Monthly Chairman Bulletin - October 2009

We get closer from the release of OSCAR-6.1.0! In order to release OSCAR-6.1.0, the bugs related to OSCAR core must be closed. Lately, many of those tickets have been closed, it is the first time since many years that we have less than 30 open bugs on core (22 while writing those lines).

If you want to follow our progresses, a report page has been open.

Of course, this list can change over time, new tickets may be opened if complete bug reports are submitted on the mailing list.

Monthly Chairman Bulletin - September 2009

No post has been published since May, mainly because the past few months have been busy. A summary of the latest news:

  • We reviewed the roadmap for oscar-6.0.4 so we can include all the patches from different contributors and also the patches we developed to fix reported issues.
  • We have a new technical chair for the OSCAR-V effort ( http://www.csm.ornl.gov/srt/oscarv/): Anand Tikotekar. Anand has been a long term contributor to the project, and was working on the effort since a while.

Monthly Chairman Bulletin - March 2009

Late bulletin this month, mostly because it was a busy month. We typically have two hot topics this month:

  • OSCAR-6.0.2 is on his way, we are working on the last remaining bugs; we should be able to release OSCAR-6.0.2 within few weeks.
  • A new server is available for the hosting of binary packages repositories. The transition to that server should be transparent for all users.

For this too work, we need a good pool of project ideas. I am putting up an project idea page here. Please add both short and more thought out project ideas in this space.
